Meet Rupert, the Muntjac fawn who was delivered by Cesarean section after his teeny tiny mama was hit by a car. Sadly, Rupert is now an orphan (mama doe didn’t make it), but not sadly, Rupert is now vying for title of cutest baby animal ever.
The little orphan, delivered by Caesarean section, was just six inches tall and, at 500 grams, weighed little more than a bag of sugar.
It looked like he, too, would face a tough fight for survival.
But staff at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire believe Rupert, as he has been named, will make a full recovery after his dramatic arrival.
Oh, Rupert. I love you. Also, if a baby Muntjac is the size of a bag of sugar and a baby panda is the size of a stick of butter, does this line of thinking mean I need to get back to work?
Anyway, more info about Rupert, interesting tidbits about Muntjac deer, and photos on Daily Mail.
I SAID: MORE PHOTOS. THEY WILL MAKE YOUR BRAIN EXPLODE BUT YOU SHOULD LOOK ANYWAY.
I don’t get why shooting animals like these can be done for pleasure… and then called sport…
